Here at Lwn may just about have heard a couple of distant rumbles however there was too much wind and background noise to be certain, also the nearest sferics were some 12 miles south so borderline audible. Squally thundery showers more widely for Wales during the evening and overnight, here at Lwn caught out letting the dog out 2300 by the heaviest of the year to date (100mm/ hour). Then vivid lightning every minute or two for 15 minutes some 10 - 12 miles to the west with low rumbles of thunder just after midnight (and into November), more to the east towards 0100 and further torrential downpours. Cellan (NRW) 33.4mm today wettest UK gauge (cf Lwn 21mm midnight). Scolton Country Park 13.2mm wettest MO gauge for Wales today (only until 2100).
