Mean temp 3.1c = coldest January since 2011 (2.7c). January's 2012-20 all being either mostly mild or at worst average. Only 7 colder months (of any name) since moving here in December 2005.

1st - 10th cold or very cold and often dry; started the year with a 4cm covering of snow this covering over half the ground until 3rd with patches lasting to 10th; much dry weather but a little rain, sleet or snow on a few days; temperatures remained below 4c and with 12 such days since dec 30th this was the longest such run since November/ December 2010; max just 1.5c 2nd would usually be the coldest of the year we will see! Most nights frost, as low as -6.9c 10th and there was fog at times too whish cleard during the mornings; much cloud generally with limited sunny intervals although 10th was a sunny day.
11th - 17th unsettled, cloudy with spells of rain and drizzle some quite heavy; temperatures mostly average to mild, with just 15th a colder day after frost; dull bar sunny spells 16th; rather windy at times.
18th - 20th dull, mild and very wet; periods of rain and drizzle throughout, heavy at times giving 3 inches in 3 days and flooding in places; 31.3mm 19th wettest day of the month; max 10.2c followed a very mild night no lower than 9.7c the highest minimum of the month.
21st - 25th turned cold with some rain, sleet and snow; nice and sunny 23rd after a sprinkling of snow then heavy snow overnight gave 7cm covering by morning of 24th this then lay to 26th. Hard frost 24th, min -8.8c the lowest reading since Dec 2017 (-8.9c).
26th - 29th cloudy and mild with spells of rain and drizzle; max 11.4c 28th highest reding of the month.
30th/ 31st colder end to the month, dry with sunny spells 30th then cloudy with light sleet and snow final day which did not settle, max by day just 1.4c but reached 1.6c after midnight.

7th - 13th cold or very cold; bitter NE/E winds, mostly dry with sunny intervals, penetrating frosts by night; 8th and 9th saw some very light snow that did not amount to anytinh at all; clear with lighter winds overnight 10th/ 11th min -7.1c followed by the coldest day for 3 years, max just +0.2c (max -2.3c 01/03/18).
14th – 24th very unsettled and mild or very mild, often windy; mostly cloudy spells of rain and drizzle, heavy at times, bar 22nd which was nice and sunny; 54.7mm 19th was the second wettest February day here (61.8mm 15/02/20) and fourth wettest day of any month; 141.8mm fell in the 7 days 14th to 20th one of the wettest weeks here; most days reached above 10c, with min 10.9c 24th being a record Feb mild night (neating 10.6c in 2012).
25th -28th fine, dry end to Winter 2020/21 with sunny periods and light winds; mild by day in the sunshine but with frost and some fog by night; 8 hours sunshine 25th sunniest day of the month and Winter...good frost 28th min -4.3c followed a most pleasant 12.8c (highest of the month and Winter) and an unbroken bright 9 hours sunshine.

14 air frosts the most recorded in April (beating 11 in 2013 and 2016).

1st - 4th Saharan dust haze and cloud 1st then unbroken sunshine (est 12 hours daily) and rather mild; min 5.6c 1st surprisingly turned out to be the mildest night of the month followed by frosts 3rd and 4th.
5th - 8th Arctic blast, much colder and sometimes windy with some wintry showers; max just 5.7c 6th was the lowest recorded here so far into Spring (although the April record remains at 4.4c from 2013); plenty of hail and snow showers 6th as well, sunny intervals and too much wind for air frost.
9th – 12th mostly dry and cool with sunny spells; frosty nights during this spell with light winds, min -6.4c 11th was the coldest night so far into Spring here; there was a little rain and drizzle however overnight 11th/ 12th giving 2.8mm which turned out to be the wettest day of the month and remarkably the driest wettest day of a month recorded here!
13th – 26th dry with sunny periods, 15 day dry spell 12th - 26th the most prolonged since September 2014 (22 days); average temperatures at first became warm by day; 9 out of 10 nights 10th to 19th had an air frost, an unprecedented April run, with all bar one night 10th - 27th having at least a ground frost; max 19.8c 23rd highest of the month; sunshine virtually unbroken (est 13.5 hours 22nd) with the warmth 22nd - 26th .
27th - 30th rather cool with sunny spells and just a little rain or showers; 1.7mm fell 27th ending the dry spell; further frost by night, down to -3.4c on the final night.

Wettest May recorded here easily beating 150.5mm in 2006, also likely one of the wettest Mays locally since at least 1862 (wettest for Wales overall); previous wettest historically 194mm in 1967 at Alltyblaca 1 mile from here (although Highmeads 3 miles away recorded 228mm).
Mean temperature 9.4c (-2.1c wrt 2006-21) = coolest since 2013 (9.0c).
Estimated sunshine 131 hours (72%) =dullest since 2015 (115 hrs).
Until the warm last few days it was on course to be an exceptionally cool May but only ended up the coolest since 2013 (9.0c).
1st - 5th cool or very cool and changeable; the month started mostly dry with sunny spells and night frosts, min -4.2c 2nd coldest of the month; then windy with showers or longer spells of rain, heavy with hail at times; gusts to 48mph 3rd along with 25.3mm rain; max just 10.2c 4th & 5th very cool for May.
6th - 7th dry but cool with sunny periods and slight frosts by night.

1st fine very warm weather from the end of May lasted to the start of June with plentiful sunshine and max 26.7c the highest reading of the month and year to date.
2nd - 4th warm but more cloud with some rain 2nd, cooler, dry and bright 3rd then rather warm and sunny 4th after a cool night with likely grass frost (min 1.4c).
5th – 8th cooler again 5th clouded over with a little rain and drizzle, then dry with sunny spells and near average temperatures.
9th - 11th mostly cloudy with a spot of rain or drizzle at times, cooler by day but very mild nights (minima above 13c 10th & 11th).

Total rainfall: 139.0mm = wettest September since 2017 (155.2mm); this being 122% of the historical Lampeter average and 134% of the 2006 – 2021 mean here. Well over half of the months rain fell in the final 5 days without which it would have ended up a dry month (61.9mm to 25th).
Estimated sunshine: 100 hours (80%) dullest September since 2017 (78 hours).
1st - 3rd dry but mainly cloudy; rather cool/ near average temperatures by day; sunny spell late 2nd.
4th - 8th very warm/ hot, dry with sunny periods; a notably warm spell for September with plentiful sunshine; 4 successive days above 25c 5th - 8th (only happened before Sept 28th – Oct 1st 2011); peak heat 29.7c 7th with almost unbroken 11.5 hours estimated sunshine, a September record (beating 26.9c 14/09/16 & 14/09/20); min 16.4c 8th warmest night of the month; more cloud 8th with showers late evening ending a 17 day drought.
